Damn Marsha, cool down, you’re about to give us heatstroke…

“Mellow but uplifting” is how tastemaker DJ Rob Da Bank introduced Gui Boratto’s remix of the new Massive Attack track “Paradise Circus” on a recent radio show, and that’s a pretty good way to put it. Brazilian DJ/producer Boratto is the most maximal of the minimal techno generation, filling his insistent grooves with stirring emotion and (gasp!) something resembling pop hooks; therefore he’s a perfect choice to remix a track off Heligoland, the latest album from the trip-hop titans.

Via Twitter, Mad Decent majordomo/superstar DJ Diplo kinda slammed the new video for Rihanna’s “Rude Boy” as a rip-off of his homey M.I.A’s “Boyz” clip (comparing the two, he does kinda have a point, but decide for yourself). Then, adding humor to injury, the dance-music merry prankster tweeted a download link to his new, irreverent remix of “Rude Boy” just a few hours later. It’s just amazing what that there Interweb can do!

We’ve been fans of eccentric U.K. pop chanteuse Marina Diamandis for a minute now, but this new remix of her track “I Am Not A Robot” definitely shows her off in a fresh light.

When Infadels debuted in 2006, the U.K. quintet were kind of caught between two poles—the danceable post-punk of, say, Bloc Party and the nu-rave of mega-buzzed about bands like the Klaxons. As a result, Infadels didn’t get the hype of those bands, but they may have staying power beyond expectations—especially if a track like the new single “Ghosts” is any indication.
