Fenech Soler are the new British buzz band du jour, with all the proper ingredients: four attractive young band members, endorsement by the likes of Alan Braxe and Mark Ronson, an engaging electro-pop sound (emphasis on electro), and a unshakeable love of hooks that border somewhere between fromage and sublime. There’s only one thing left that could ensure their blog superstardom… You guessed it, an Alex Metric remix! Metric gives Fenech Soler the business per usual: in his robot hands, “Lies” starts to resemble “Need You Tonight” by INXS given a Chicago piano house makeover by Stuart Price. It’s the perfect coup de grace, in that glorious moment when grace doesn’t seem particularly necessary….
