Wimbledon took an odd, hooliganish turn this week; Romania’s Victor Hanescu easily had the worst day – worldwide – Friday. After unexpectedly losing a set to Daniel Brands Hanescu started having hamstring pains, which the crowd began mocking him for! The drunken crowd began chanting “Victor is weak!” Something you’d expect from a Yankees game or some football hooligans outside of Manchester, not from Wimbledon. So Hanescu, understandably pissed off and dejected, spat in the crowd’s general direction, earning an unsportsman-like conduct warning from the ump. Jeez!

Following that sad progression Hanescu summarily gave up, earning purposeful faults and flubbing his way through the remainder of the match. Better luck next time bud!
