Rob Dyrdek Opens Another ‘Safe Spot’; World’s Largest Skateboard

Love or hate Dyrdek for his MTV-cheese ‘Fantasy Factory’ but he’s shown his integrity, and lived up to his promises with his foundation’s pledge to open free, public and safe skate spots for inner city kids. The first one was opened in Lafayette Park earlier this year. Now, there’s a new spot in Holenbeck Park, which by all accounts is an even sketchier neighborhood, with even more kids in need of a spot to skate. Along with funding the projects (with money from charitable sponsors), Dyrdek’s involvement ensures the integrity of the parks and the on-going support for the project. The new park even features 24-hour security, awesome for night sessions. Well, hats off to Dyrdek for all he continues to offer to the So Cal skate community.

Though this probably has nothing to do with the parks, Dyrdek is also responsible for the largest skateboard in the world. This is good enough excuse to post a video about it.
