Ironman’s mystique is in the steps before all the running begins. So, it’s great that this amateur triathlete blogger took the time to document his journey and write a book about it. Countdown to Kona is about the training, the setbacks, the psychology that this amateur Ironman went through. Ranking is seldom what’s important unless you have a teammate named Kobe or a Lebron, but this is a solitary sport and the mental is where you wanna focus.
