HEDERUS FOR K-SWISS HIT THE STREETS

Feel the velcro! They’re limited edition and available now!!!
iD magazine recently revealed the story behind the collaboration with Swedish native, London-educated Julia Hederus. One carefully phrased letter to the K-Swiss head honchos shifted her designs from paper to reality and she was commissioned to design 3 limited edition sets of sneaks. They’re now available in selected stores and she’s being hailed a design goddess. Her magic has kicked a whole new life to the 5 stripe classic, with hints of a digital flava, they’re new kicks with old school klass. The 3 essential styles cover every corner, there’s one hi-top, one low-riding lace-up and a rare grooving velcro deluxe, they kick like kung fu. “We spend half of our lives in front of the computer where what we see consists of small squares in one colour. What I often like to do with my design is to divide it up into the smallest parts of our daily life, pixels, atoms, metaphorically speaking; jigsaws, boxes, blocks, bricks. And from that I create a world of its own, a kind of sci-fi landscape” she says about her fresh interpretations of the 5 stripe klassics. This graphic translation hints at ska, old school hip-hop and nu skool electro. “I think that at the time I designed these I listened a lot to Hot Chip, Clap Your Hands and Say Yeah, M.I.A., The Go Team, CSS, Electrelane, a lot of A Tribe Called Quest. I think that music is good to give you impulses” And judging by the way these sneaks are flying out of hip stockists around Europe, Hederus’ impulses are fully grooved, locked, loaded and ready to hit like it hurts. Serious collectors, watchout, another K-Swiss classic is born.

Very Limited editions now available in selected stores & online (Oki-Ni, Liberty, Suprmrkt, 290sqmeters, Opening Ceremony NY), get them whilst you can, they’re set to fly
