“This is my voice, my weapon of choice.” what joy ! Grace Jones has reappeared in our shopping basket once again with her first album in 19 years – fittingly titled Hurricane (out Nov 3 on Wall of Sound). I can sit here and go on about how much we idolize this pop culture icon, but no manifesto would be adequate enough to describe her and this new album. You just have to hear it for yourself. The new video above for the first single “Corporate Cannibal” is as slick and intimidating as Miss Tour de Force. The lady is fierce! We stand in a long line of die hard fans, which also includes our friend Ashley Beedle who featured her great classic Run Up on his Strut records compilation Grass Roots. We’re sure Ashley is just as excited to witness her comeback. Welcome back Grace ….. we remain Slaves to your Rhythm !
