As you know, we’re fans of DJ/remixer/radio personality supreme Alex Metric, one of the absolute brightest talents ever to plug a computer into a Technics at the moment. Therefore we weren’t surprised to find that, at the time of this writing, two of Metric’s latest productions are #4 and #6 respectively on the influential Hype Machine . His remix of Bloc Party’s “One More Chance” is an absolute summer banger, a reminder of the great pianotastic Chicago house of yore mixed with heartbreaking indie; it might get even eclipse Metric’s smash remix of Phoenix’s “Lisztomania” that has dominated DJ sets for months.
VIDEO ALEX METRIC PHOENIX REMIX:

Meanwhile, a new Metric original, with the absolutely goofy title “Shirley You Can’t Be Serious” is a squelchy, noisy, distorted, insanely fun rollercoaster of a track that could put Ed Banger out of business. And Metric’s OTHER new track (between DJ gigs and the studio, does he ever sleep?) finds him playing with the big boys: remixing U2’s new single, which he previewed on his latest BBC show. And then there’s his MASSIVE remix of the Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage”….
So catch on now – soon the entire globe will be on the Metric system.
