Every great athlete needs great theme music – well, maybe not, but it sure helps to get the adrenaline flowing! That’s where St Andrew steps in. St Andrew is the nom du electronique of Andrew Swanson, a 22-year-old beatmaker/producer/DJ extraordinaire who’s been making waves of late with his genre- challenging productions. French touch house, dubstep, glitch, electro, hip hop, heavy metal, ’80s synth-pop – St Andrew does it all, sometimes in the same song! That winning talent attracted the likes of classic extreme snow-sports filmmaker Warren Miller, who chose St Andrew’s song “Team Victory” for the soundtrack of his latest global gonzo adventure on the slopes flick, Dynasty:
St Andrew has been seriously blowing up of late. He first gained notice by taking the championship position in a contest to remix Yelle’s hit “Ce Jeu”; Yelle liked it so much, she gave it an official release. Since then, St Andrew has been helping our friend Adam Freeland in the studio, received a ton of airplay for his tracks on Mary Anne Hobbs’ BBC Radio 1 show, and recently played to a sold-out crowd at Chicago’s House of Blues opening up for Sound Tribe Sector Nine over Lollapalooza weekend. St Andrew also recently enjoyed the official release of his amazing first solo e.p., Cosmic Terror. And just for Kspace, St Andrew is giving away a free MP3 of “Team Victory” – after all, you never know when you might need some good theme music to really make that jump, push the ball over the net or reach that finish line…
