Miike Snow got some early dap for their seemingly indie focus, yet are indeed from Swedish pop’s epicenter with credits that include Britney and Kylie. On initial glimpse, they might have been able to ride the coat-tails of a group like Peter, Bjorn and John who managed to have a few smash hits (but couldn’t even follow their own success very well). Miike Snow’s debut is actually ok, but is probably not seeing the trajectory that they predicted, which is why they should be thankful for remixers like Fake Blood. Fake Blood, is nomme de guerre for Black Ghost, Wiseguys collaborator (our buddy) Theo Keating aka DJ Touche, is able to lift the Snow single “Animal” out of the duldrums and onto the dancefloor. Keating actually lets this pop tune be a pop tune, but adds necessary dimension. Not sure if Fake Blood will take shape as an artist project, as Keating has so many aliases already, but fingers are crossed.
