First heard from their debut Fantasy Black Channel, “Bathroom Gurgle” made its way into the hipster blogdom and caught the attention of DJ/producer Erol Alkan who produced this new single. Fitting somewhere between the estatic haze of counterparts MGMT and the pulsing drive of M83, this new Late of the Pier single shifts dramatically between acoustic simplicity and something more Beatle-esque with a net effect of an epic wonderland. Still at the core are the four-piece’s instinct for fundamental pop arrangements. Injected with Alkan’s Beyond the Wizard’s Sleeve psychedelia and edge, “Blueberry” doesn’t disappoint although if listened to loud enough on headphones, late at night… be warned, you might never be the same.
