We’ve been feeling it’s about time for some more Jose James music and as if to fulfill our wishes along comes this sublime new track off of the upcoming new album ‘BLACKMAGIC’. As it turns out the album is due early 2010 but the title track is produced by LA’s beats don Flying Lotus with whom Jose has crafted a handful of delightfully dusty, slightly dishevelled hip hop soul joints. Our ‘Track of the Day’ selection here is the re-working by the mighty IZMABAD who wade in with a deliciously deep house groove. SimBAD and KarIZMA form like Voltron and the results are always devastating – demand for their output is high, but the duo’s productions are a rare treat.
We will more than likely also be featuring some of the other fresh mixes as soo we can snag them out of Gilles’ box (def. the mix by Joy Orbinson !) and we’ll feature the Blackmagic video for y’all here first on KTV just as soon as the final magic edit is done.
The ‘BLACKMAGIC’ Remixes will be released digitally on 19th October 2009 on Brownswood Recordings. Vinyl enthusiasts can bag the Joy Orbison and Untold remixes on a crisp 12″ which drops at the same time.
Catch Jose on tour in the US in September and EU early October and stay tuned for more info on Jose’s supreme Coltrane tribute joints …..
