You got to love the BBC dedication to promoting good music – whether it be via radio with hosts like Gilles Peterson or Benji B or The Electric Proms which was on this past weekend in the UK continuing its pursuit for “creating new moments in music.” Definitely has been the event to spring-board daring collaborations and introducing us to many yet known artists. Do you remember last year’s Soil & “Pimp” Sessions with Jaime Cullum ? Hands down highlight performance this weekend for me was Nitin Sawhney – Distant Dream featuring ROX (the first single of Nitin’s new album). Even if ROX has not already been heard with Wiley and singing Valerie with Mark Ronson, I’m adding this dynamic little lady to my predictions list for ‘09 “ones to watch.” We recommend you do the same.
