It’s been a few weeks already since our good friend LeFtO was in town spinning at the Do Over and Low End Theory and taking a well deserved break from his radio show, club gigs, filming, blogging and promoting up on the Northern seas (of Europe that is). To fill in the gap until his next visit, he’s just graced us with another Exclusive 66 Mix for KSPACE.TV filled with a dazzling blend of the Classic and the new. Here’s what he has to say ’bout the mix:

I start the mix with Emanative, a nice producer on the Futuristica label, a perfect song that reminds me of Roy Ayers’s “Everybody Loves The Sunshine”, well, at least the beginning of the tune.  Mixed Nat King Cole’s “Pick Up” track from his Re:Generations album, a track produced by Just Blaze, really?!!!  An exclusive track from Kid Swing that I got from the label boss, merci Pablo!  Fashawn is my favorite emcee at the moment, produced by L.A.’s Exile it’s a summer tune.  Flako is definitely one of my favorite European producers, he’s from Berlin and makes incredible stuff, solo or with his group called Damage Is Done.  What to say about Alice Russell ?  This is a new project called “Pot Of Gold” and features a lotta remixes, this one from Yellowtail is one of my favorite tracks at the moment, same goes out to the beautiful voices of Melody Gardot and Gretchen Parlato, amazing.  New Zealand’s Julien Dyne is definitely someone you need check, his album “Pins & Digits” out on BBE is simply beautiful, nice arrangements and great atmosphere, buy it eyes closed.  Mark (de Clive-Lowe) sent me this project he did with Dutchman Rob Van De Wouw, very interesting record, recorded in the countryside somewhere in the Netherlands, and as always it does not dissapoint !

Another favo is definitely Debruit’s “Nigerian What?”, it’s like African modern beats with a typical UK sound, very interesting.  Rockwell is another one like that, dropped from the sky it landed on my turntables and it’s here to stay, starts slow ends fast… wow!  A few other gems on there but Four Tet’s “our bells” is the best thing to end a mix with.
