Booka Shade back from USA Tour

Our Friends Booka Shade just arrived last night from their US Tour. We talked to Arno about their impressions and forthcoming Activities.

Q: You just arrived from your US Tour today. How was it? Due to the Comments we saw on your MySpace, it must be very successful…..

Arno: We´re still jetlagged but very happy: The tour was a great success ! We played some places we have never been before, like El Paso or Washington, some cities we´ve been, like San Francisco, Denver, Chicago or the legendary Fillmore Theatre in NYC.
And we played big festivals such as SXSW in Texas, ´HOW SWEET IT IS´ in San Bernadino and of course the ULTRA fest in Miami. It was a great experience to play the ´sunset set´ on the main stage !

Q: Booka Shade are touring all over the world. Is there a difference between the crowds in different countries, especially between the States and Europe ?

Arno: I´m happy to say we feel privileged to have very enthusiastic audiences all over the world ! there may be some cultural differences sometimes, but the latest when we play IN WHITE ROOMS or BODY LANGUAGE, people will sing the melodies, regardless if it´s in the rainforest of Brasil or somewhere in Russia ! it´s a wonderful feeling to have such fantastic fans !

Q: In 2008, you guys released the very successful “The Sun & The Neon Light“ Album. Are they any plans for a new Album in 2009?

Arno: We´re currently working on a new album and we´re very pleased with the results so far. i´m confident we´ll have a single out in fall and the album out in the beginning of 2010.

Q: As touring is also very exhausting. Are you doing sports and do you think dancing is sports too?

Arno: Actually yes, dancing is a kind of sport, and we do a lot of that on stage ! But we do sports, too. We fell in love with Yoga, which is great for relaxation AND physical power. i go jogging a lot, too.
And we take care to eat good healthy food.
When you do extensive touring you need all this in order to survive …..

Q: We have the ongoing Booka Shade classic shoe collaboration with you (as designed by Hort the acclaimed Berlin design company) KSPACE.TV and so what does classic means to you?

Arno: Classic to us means: Continuity. Significance. Relevance. Something that lasts, something you can rely on.

Q: Last not but not least, can you give us 5 Tracks we have to listen to right now ?

Arno:
1. Rusty Nails (Booka Shade Rmx) – Moderat (BPC)
2. Objects & Purposes (M.A.N.D.Y. vs Booka Shade Rmx) – Bronnt (Get Physical)
3. Shonen Jump – Vincenzo (Freerange)
4. The Dance – Zombie Disco Squad (Dirtybird)
5. Confused (Booka Shade Edit) – New Order (Factory)

Many thanks for your time, guys!
