SEUN KUTI brings a new level of craziness to Afrobeat. The voice of Fela Kuti’s youngest son takes the renegade spirit of his father’s music and pairs it up with the swagger of today’s hip hop generation. Like his father, Seun continues to call out on the indignation that the world’s people face, as illustrated in the buzzing cry against malaria as told in “Mosquito Song.” However one can’t escape the young twenty somethings hip hop influence as he raps along in “African Problems.” Mo money, Mo problems! But the one thing that remains categorically afro beat, is that feet will not stop grooving to the infections layers of rhythm trapped in a movement that knows no bounds. At London’s Cargo, at the new Holiday dates of 14 & 15 December come and witness Seun Kuti collide these two worlds on stage as he crusades for a next lifetime of African music lovers. Catch KSPACE.TV there. We will be the ones “shuffling and smiling!” As always, you have a chance to WIN a pair of tickets for this event (either day) by answering ‘what is the name of the community Fela & family lived in’.
