Just like we expected…a sell out! The Robert Glasper Trio did it on Tuesday night at Cargo to a packed room of hyped jazz/ hip hop heads. The show was off the meter! Starting the show off with a shout out to the K for hooking him up with a fresh pair of SI-18 Rannell (get at it!) which he gladly pedalled away with. Taking us on an odyssey through his top catalogue from Herbie’s ‘Maiden Voyage’ to the “dillaludes” to the Radiohead interpretations – ‘Everything in it’s Right Place’ fo sho ! Glasper also brought on two homegrown UK MC’s Kashmere and Verb T. As for his trio, damn ! best ensemble of young musicians I have seen in a very long time. Alan Hampton on upright bass and can we give the drummer some love?!! Browswood message boards are calling drummer Chris Dave “The Human MPC” with his three stick magic trick!
