Lasermagnetic and Warm reunite for another very special one-off event in deepest East London on Saturday April 19th AND Who says pop music can’t be cool? Having a listen to Brooklyn trio, Chromatics’ latest release kills the notion that popular music is only made for the charts. Off of the transcendental label Italians Do it Better, the Chromatics lo-fi electro sound creates a spellbinding soundtrack for all the hot mamas and papas disciples of the music/fashion world. The minimalist disco style on their recent lp “Night Drive” gives kudos to the band finding their perfect place with hit tunes like “In the City” and euphonic covers of “I’m on Fire” and a personal favorite Kate Bush’s “Running up that Hill.”
Now after five years-two albums-five singles later, they are finally making their imminent UK debut at Cafe 1001 in London. Chromatics onstage at Midnight !) plus killin’ sets from AME (Innervisions), Studio (who West Coast lp was one of the raves of ’07), Skull Juice (Walk the Nigh), and Mike Simonetti (Head Italian in charge and Troubleman, both labels being two of the most talked about indies with releases from Glass Candy, Black Dice, Devendra Banhart, Wolf Eyes and of course Chromatics). Lasermagnetic and Warm resident DJ’s in effect.
