I believe with all my heart that if you have an opportunity to go see a great new artist perform live, don’t pass it up. I would bet that everyone has at least one gig they regretted not going to. That’s one of the many reasons why the last two nights at Cargo with Seun Kuti meant the world to me and the whole double sold out crowd. Seun is a beautiful reincarnation of his father Fela, but independently very special and unique. The energy, the dancing, the growling was all pure Seun. The spirit all Fela! Massive big ups to Egypt 80 who kept me in stitches backstage from laughing so hard at the all their Naija wit and sayings . “Why dem Naija say credit crunch..they don’t give us any credit TO crunch.” That my friends is how Afrobeat songs get made.
