London was the perfect host to Q-TIP’s long awaited and triumphant return after 14 or so years past Saturday ! The Roundhouse was a fitting venue and sensation for this celebration of hip hop legend Q-TIP and his full live band who as promised tore the roof of the sucka ! What def. impressed me as much as the live show, was TIP’s DJ set at the afterparty bumpin’ until 6am together with GP, Simbad, Lefto and the bPM.Thanks to Lefto as well for providing this quick insider view of the Event and Afterparty – respect to all involved and an excellent kickoff to the WW10 celebrations – next one up Mulatu and The Heliocentrics at Koko London on May 20 – tix on sale now.

Never had any doubt as to the Abstract tearin’ the roof off the Paradiso ! was just a matter of which tune was gonna set it off. Fact is though that there are so many great ‘vivrant’ solo TIP tunes that had a full Amsterdam house jumpin’ even before the timeless ATCQ classics boomed and bipped with the ‘amplified’ added value of the full live band (including master keys man Robert Glasper in pic above). Welcome back to the stage – fo sho ‘life is Better’ for it !
