Aw’right, we were psyched when we heard that innovative film director Spike Jonze was taking on Maurice Sendak’s surreal children’s-book-classic-for-all-ages Where The Wild Things Are. Then we got even more amped when we heard it was coming out soon (October 16!!!). After we saw the dope trailer soundtracked with one of our favorite songs (”Wake Up” by Arcade Fire), well, we got downright stalkerish. And just when we didn’t think we could have our minds blown any more by the Jonze-Sendak axis… Well…

They released commemorative Where The Wild Things Are skateboard decks!

This is obviously a must have collector’s item for the skateboard obsessed – of which Jonze is one. Indeed, it’s no surprise Jonze commissioned custom decks for his flick: he actually got his start behind the camera shooting ill skateboard videos, which led to music videos featuring dope skateboarding, which led to music videos that featured no skateboarding at all, which led to directing huge Hollywood blockbusters!

We should all be so lucky. But I’d settle for just one of those Wild Things boards to hang on my wall…
