I am still training my butt off (literally I hope) for the Ragnar Relay LA . One of the ways I’ve been trying to prep both mentally and physically is by trying out night running. Now, I’ve most definitely done a run after sunset before, but pitch black in the middle of the night with a bright blinding headlamp in Griffith Park of all places… well that’s something with a world’s worth of difference.

This is the year of the eccentric U.K. chanteuse: Bat For Lashes, La Roux, Little Boots, Florence and the Machine… There are more and more everyday it seems: a generation of Brit girls seemingly grew up discovering their mom’s Kate Bush eight-tracks, and their lives (and ours) were changed forever… Current case in point: Marina Diamandis, who goes by the nom de roq of Marina and the Diamonds.

An all time favorite returns ! and not a minute too soon I might add. C’mon it’s festival season and you need something sturdier and way cooler looking than your crusty old trainers or sandals right when you head off to Lovebox, Bestival, Big Chill, All Points West or Wanderlust. It’s a boot, YES even though it’s summer but not just any old boot ! this is one that has stood the test of time from those Foreign legion days (that none of us actually know anything about) through to your groovy little Euro cousin who came to visit in the summer and you no doubt snagged their pair.
