We’ve blown up St Andrew on ye olde KSPACE a couple times before, but the kid seems to be doing a fine job of blowing up on his own! Terry Richardson Has the Best Job… Ever ! (NSFW)

It makes perfect sense for Terry Richardson to shoot the 2010 Pirelli Calendar. I mean who else but the lecherous but oh-so talented model photographer would be the first to be tapped to shoot a bunch of really hot women in the jungles of Malaysia (?).

KTV: Major Lazer “Keep it Going Louder”

Another bizarre video from the demented mind of Eric Wareheim, brought to life by Fatalfarm, following his work with Major Lazer. This song could break even further into the pop charts than the past singles from Guns Don’t Kill People… Lazers Do. This video will certainly help it make some rounds.

Sports Jams Redux: Puck Rock

The Guardian recently posted a great article on the rise of hockey rock focusing on hardcore punk greats D.O.A., whose latest album is called Kings of Punk, Hockey And Beer. Of course, D.O.A. are Canadian, which makes them even more prone to hockey-it is. Case in point: Anvil, the great heavy metal band/documentary subject, also are Canucks, which means it’s no surprise they have a great fist-pumping, slap-shotting hockey anthem, “Blood On The Ice,” in their repertoire.

Stroke-Free Zone: Julian Casablancas Goes For Baroque

Julian Casablancas has a lot to prove. The primary elephant in the room: can he make it without the Strokes? To that end, he’s set up a solo residency at downtown Los Angeles’ Palace Theater to properly introduce the world to his new solo album, Phrazes For The Young. That elephant can now leave the room: Casablanca delivered and then some – if the Strokes’ self-conscious lo-fi is scratchy black and white, then what Casablancas is doing now is glorious Technicolor, as KSPACE discovered catching last Friday’s show, the second of four shows in a month-long stand.

This is the year of the eccentric U.K. chanteuse: Bat For Lashes, La Roux, Little Boots, Florence and the Machine… There are more and more everyday it seems: a generation of Brit girls seemingly grew up discovering their mom’s Kate Bush eight-tracks, and their lives (and ours) were changed forever… Current case in point: Marina Diamandis, who goes by the nom de roq of Marina and the Diamonds.

Instant Classic Podcast: The Flavor Bin

What is the definition of flavor? Well, who cares when Bill McMullen and Colby Parker Jr. are involved. Bill McMullen – aka Billions McMillions – is, like, the dopest artist/graphic designer in the world: you know that Beastie Boys album cover you put up on your bedroom wall? He designed it, yo… As for Parker Jr. – no relation to another flavor unit, Ray Parker Jr. – he’s one of the universe’s top film editors. Now they have joined forces in that most 2009 of thangs, the podcast, and it is predictably unpredictable and excellent.
